An Arbor provides an environment that encourages the growth of the plants and vines within it.
In Matthew Chapter 13, Jesus taught that seeds do not automatically grow into healthy plants everywhere they are planted. Seeds placed in rocky ground, shallow soil, or thorny environments will struggle to grow or even survive. However, seeds planted in the right environment will not only survive but will thrive and produce fruit in abundance.
The Arbor Church aims to be an environment where our community of believers can grow upwards together regardless of where we are in our faith journey and regardless of past and ongoing struggles in life. Salvation isn't the arrival, but the beginning of the life-long process of spiritual growth going forward.
The Arbor is a church community in Tampa committed to growing and deepening our relationships with God while cultivating genuine, life-giving relationships with others. We hope that you will choose to join us in that journey.
Welcome to the Arbor Church. An environment for growth.
Four Essential Elements of Devotion (FEED)
Faithfully gather with the body of believers
Faithfully commit to daily time with God and belong to a Community Group
Faithfully use our spiritual and material gifts and talents to serve the church body
Faithfully minister to those in need outside the church physically and spiritually
These core values are part of the DNA of The Arbor Church. They are both descriptive and prescriptive of who we are and who we strive to be in Christ.
In faith, hope, and love
Colossians 2:6-7 (NIV)
So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
Proverbs 27:17 (NIV)
As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.
Where you are
Who you know
When you serve
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
We believe in one God, creator of all things, infinitely perfect, holy, omnipotent and eternally existing in a united community of three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe Jesus Christ is true God and true man. Jesus had a virgin birth, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins, arose bodily from the grave and ascended to heaven where he sits on the right hand of the Father and is our Advocate.
We believe the Bible is the inspired living word of God, accurately communicating His intent, and is the final authority in the life and doctrine of God’s people.
We believe the church is the body of Christ on earth, empowered by the Holy Spirit to continue the task of reaching the lost and disciplining the saved, helping all people become fully devoted followers of Christ.
We believe the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to convict people of sin, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, instruct, encourage and empower the believer for Godly living and service.
We believe God’s saving grace is His free gift and that the death of Christ on the cross is the only sufficient payment for our sins. Salvation and eternal life and eternal communion with God is available for any who puts their trust in Christ as Savior, responding to him with faith, repentance, confession, baptism, and a new life and ministry through the Holy Spirit.
We believe that Christ will one day return and reign forever in the bodily resurrection of all humankind.
