Who we are
What is the name about
An Arbor is a healthy place where all types of vegetation grows. But like in the parable of the sower, the good soil doesn’t just show up by accident. The seed fell where it fell, but the good soil was cultivated. It was healthy. There were no thorns, no hidden layers of rocks.
The area of good soil - this garden, this field - was FORMED in that environment so that crops could grow and become what they were created to become: fruit bearing. To produce and re-produce.
God has given us a vision of a church that cultivates an environment like an Arbor. Where all can grow. No matter where someone is at on their faith journey that they can experience love, genuine connection, the truth and freedom found in God’s Word and a gathering of people - a church - that will walk alongside them.
What we believe
We believe in one God, creator of all things, infinitely perfect, holy, omnipotent and eternally existing in a united community of three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe Jesus Christ is true God and true man. Jesus had a virgin birth, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins, arose bodily from the grave and ascended to heaven where he sits on the right hand of the Father and is our Advocate.
We believe the Bible is the inspired living word of God, accurately communicating His intent, and is the final authority in the life and doctrine of God’s people.
We believe the church is the body of Christ on earth, empowered by the Holy Spirit to continue the task of reaching the lost and disciplining the saved, helping all people become fully devoted followers of Christ.

What we are about
These core values are part of the DNA of The Arbor Church. They are both descriptive and prescriptive of who we are in Christ.
Connect upwards to God and outwards to each other. Proverbs 27:17
Impact our city and world with the love of Christ. Acts 1:8
Influence others by inviting them. Matthew 5:13-16
Authentic and honest about who we are. Ephesians 4:25
We believe the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to convict people of sin, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, instruct, encourage and empower the believer for Godly living and service.
We believe God’s saving grace is His free gift and that the death of Christ on the cross is the only sufficient payment for our sins. Salvation and eternal life and eternal communion with God is available for any who puts their trust in Christ as Savior, responding to him with faith, repentance, confession, baptism, and a new life and ministry through the Holy Spirit.
We believe that Christ will one day return and reign forever in the bodily resurrection of all humankind.
